Philosophy

Dr Dhar is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist. He qualified in medicine twenty years ago from St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. Whilst completing his postgraduate training he took an interest in the interface between Law and Psychiatry and also qualified as a Barrister. Dual training has allowed him to develop a model of clinical practice that focuses on the patient’s need for clear communication,  explanation and planning in dealing with their problems. His career has included dealing with a very broad range of clinical problems and holding various leadership roles in the field. This has included the role of Clinical Director for Mental Health services for a borough of London, an Honorary Academic at the Institute of Psychiatry and a Consultant Board member to an NHS clinical commissioning group. As well as providing services directly to patients and referring GPs, he has advised specialist colleagues, major insurance companies, corporations, executives, public sector organisations, charities and overseas embassies. Having studied for MBA he also uses his knowledge of organisational behaviour; operational and change management and strategy to help individuals deal with conflict, occupational stress and pressure in the workplace. He is also regarded as one of the leading expert witnesses in the area of psychiatry and regularly provides evidence to the Higher Courts. He has received numerous clinical excellence awards in the NHS and worked with award winning organisations.
